Lindblad’s 7-day Columbia River Cruise will take you from Portland, Oregon to Lewiston, Idaho through the magnificent Columbia River Gorge and Washington’s wine country…
As the name implies, we’ll follow some of the route Lewis & Clark followed on their Corps of Discovery Expedition. Along the way, you’ll learn about their voyage by visiting historical sites where they camped, and hear about Native American inter-tribal relationships and well-established trade routes they discovered. On this cruise you’ll have the opportunity to hike, kayak and/or enjoy Zodiac cruises through the Columbia River Gorge for an up-close perspective of this restless land.
Embark on a culinary journey that embraces the region’s vibrant food, craft beer and abundant wineries. You will stroll through vineyards and sample wine, and enjoy menus prepared by the ship’s chef which represents the bounty of the Northwest. In keeping with the culture of the region, this cruise also features food that is locally and sustainably produced via Lindblad’s acquired Food Alliance affiliation.
Your expedition cruise ship will pass through a series of 8 locks during your river journey, These locks (which you can see the inner workings of while standing on deck) raise the ship over 700 feet, nearly ten times the height of the Panama Canal.
